Widmer Hefewiezen

  • American Wheat Beer4.9% ABV30 IBU
  • Widmer Brothers Brewing CompanyPortland, OR
  • When we first brewed Hefe in 1986, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. Hefe’s signature cloudy look, bold flavors and citrus notes defined a new style– the American-style Hefeweizen. At the time, we didn’t realize we had created the original American Hefeweizen and never expected that it would still be Oregon’s favorite craft beer some three decades later.

Amber, Red, and Brown Ales

Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale

  • American Brown Ale5.5% ABV25 IBU
  • Cigar City BrewingTampa, FL
  • Among the darkest colored and most complex cigars made in Tampa’s Ybor City is the maduro, made with an overripe wrapper and exhibiting chocolaty and earthy flavors. We draw inspiration from these sophisticated cigars and from Tampa’s cigar-making history with Maduro Brown Ale, a Northern English Brown Ale brewed with flaked oats. Full in body and silky on the palate, Maduro Brown Ale’s chocolate and espresso notes are rounded out by toffee-like qualities and a light, woody hop presence. Enjoy Maduro Brown Ale with chicharrones, ropa vieja, or a fine hand-rolled cigar.

Iron Horse Irish Death

  • American Brown Ale7.8% ABV49 IBU
  • Iron Horse BreweryWA, United States
  • Created by the brewery’s founder, Quilter’s Irish Death is what we call a dark, smooth ale. Any attempt at classifying it just ends up sending beer geeks into a style guidelines diatribe. So forget style guidelines. Is your pursuit of micro beer about tasting copies of a style that fit guidelines anyways? (Neither is ours) We lovingly refer to it as beer candy.

Riverport Big Eddy Red

  • American Amber Ale5.4% ABV
  • Riverport BrewingClarkston, WA
  • A moderate, hoppy beer with a distinct caramel malty flavor.

The name honors this brewer’s affinity with arachnia. Be forewarned, this beer will stain your clothes. This is Fort George’s house stout that has gained a reputation for being mighty and contagious among the locals.
